Bransbest supplies mushrooms and mushroom-based snacks to the hospitality industry. In addition, Bransbest contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by teaching coffee farmers and women in Uganda how to grow mushrooms using coffee production waste. I built a website for Bransbest and manage their social media.
Assignment
Bransbest is my father Michel Brans’s company. He indicated that he wanted a new website but wasn’t sure who to turn to. Therefore, as a surprise, I built a website for him myself and gave it to him as a Christmas gift.
After delivery, it soon became apparent that some things still needed to be adjusted and improved, and I took that on. Additionally, Michel wanted to become more active on social media to better showcase what he does and the impact he makes. Since then, I have also managed the social media and ensure regular content, such as stories and blogs, on the website.
Process
I built the website in WordPress using Avada. Because the old website contained very little text, I rewrote all the content myself. In doing so, I used the AI bot developed within Rootz Media. This bot helps rewrite texts and makes them SEO-proof.
I use AI here as support, not as a replacement. It was important to me that the text remains natural and matches the company’s image. Therefore, I checked, adjusted, and supplemented everything myself where necessary. In doing so, I sought a balance between working efficiently and providing my own input.
Result
This is the first website I have built entirely independently, which makes it an important project for me. I worked not only on the design and technology but also on the content and online visibility.
My father is very happy with the result and notices that being more active on social media helps to better showcase his work and increase online visibility. For me, this project was a good way to experience what it is like to work for a real client and to take responsibility for it.
